WHAT IS MOTIVATION?

So what is it?

What prompts some people into immediate action and others never feel it?

What is it that drives some people to get up and go, move mountains, change the world and create an amazing lifestyle and not others?

Some days I wonder if I even have that gene in my body.

Is it laziness, complacency, lack of passion or lack of self-esteem or is it that when I feel like this it is that I’m not worthy enough of good things, nice things, not worthy enough to have money or even a great lifestyle?

Is this something genetically encoded in me or is it conditioning from another generation or is the lack of trust in humanity?

These thoughts and feelings run through my existence and I wonder and ask questions yet I know I do not receive answers.

Do family patterns and conditionings play a part in this? Yes! I believe they add to the many layers of how unique we are.

I also believe that things like our Human design chart, Natal Charts and Numerology and recently I have discovered gene keys all of these have clues to this but they don’t hold the answers.

The only place the answers can be found is within and this is a lifelong journey of inner work, but to do this you need the right support and the time to allow your nervous system to adapt and perceive things as comfortable and even joyful and not as a threat.

I know this is the key to what my nervous system perceives as threats and not joy. This is something I am working on in a very safe group setting and it is life-changing though at times a slow process.

To quote my teacher “the nervous system loves time”.

For me what I have experienced so far is that the nervous system likes the slow pace to change and heal.

So what does this have to do with lack of motivation, trust, becoming a hermit, and not being able to turn on the action?

Well to me it feels like the key to the things that need to be soothed and loved, not pushed aside or squashed down.

The main part of this equation is the action and if the nervous system isn’t comfortable with the action then I can’t take the step.

If it feels like a perceived threat then my system will act accordingly. it may not even be a physical threat but the stress hormones are released and the nervous system reacts to that. In human design, this is part of the spleen centre as well. The spleen centre is our survival centre it’s where our in-the-moment safety intuition lives our primal instinct for fight or flight. This centre is the one that says run if you are being chased by something threatening, unfortunately, in today’s world, many of us have run our nervous system on high alert for so long that we suffer from burnout and shutdown.

So how do you recover from burnout? that is something I am still working on after 3 decades of living with burnout it’s not an overnight fix it is a slow process. One that I hope to live long enough to see the results of, for now with my limited understanding as I work on my nervous system and allow it time is that the oldest and most primal part of my nervous system is activated and that it is my go-to pattern. This is the part of my nervous system that shuts down or collapses and becomes unavailable when I feel overwhelmed by too much too quickly. It becomes unavailable and this is a long-term habit of at least 2 decades that I am aware of.  

As I sit here writing this, I realise that I’ve been hard on myself and pushed myself far too hard to do things when I don’t feel comfortable doing them.

When I don’t want to say yes but I do!

Giving myself the gift of time is the best thing I can do for motivation and action.

It’s the only thing I can do for burnout!

It’s not laziness, complacency, or lack of motivation. It certainly has elements of self-esteem and not being enough but for the most part, it’s fear. Fear is locked and encoded into my nervous system which perceives changes as a threat to my survival.

Now more than ever as I see and know this, I am determined to let my nervous system have the time it needs to feel comfortable with change and let me take the time to feel joy and even pleasure as the change settles into my body.

If this speaks to you then I encourage you to find some support for your nervous system Somatic experiencing practitioners are trained to do nervous system work.

Things like Human Design, Numerology and Astrology chart readings will give you some insights into your preordained personality this can give you a little more insight into the complex uniqueness that is you.

But the biggest gift you can give yourself is time, create pauses in your day and stillness give your system time to catch up and not feel overwhelme.

Listen to your Wisdom

Being seen and feeling like you have been heard is very much a part of who we are. We have so many layers and levels to us.

So many facets.

We are complex beings yet at the core of us, we all want the same thing, to feel the unconditional love we felt as babies.

In my years on this earth and before I have seen this in so many ways. It plays out in all of us differently, from not feeling enough, addictive behaviour, self-sabotage, procrastination, becoming reclusive, judgmental, jealousy, anxiety, stress, perfectionism, hiding in plain sight with over the top acts, not communicating, talking to much to fill a void or the space, sitting still all day not moving or do do do and never allowing yourself the space to be and receive.

Ultimately all of this or one constant act that becomes a habit can lead to illness. We store so many things in our bodies and our cells.

The things we experience and believe, the emotional state we are in at the time that we experience a change, a fright, even excitement our bodies record all of these events and all of our everyday events, our subconscious programming runs it never shuts down. our beliefs and emotions attached to those beliefs are written or stored in our subconscious energy field.

This is not something I have observed and intuitively felt from doing intuitive healing work. It is the beliefs instilled in us and the way we bring them through into our daily lives from our own emotional place that fuels our beliefs constantly reinstalling them into ourselves. Through these beliefs, habits and patterns we often compromise ourselves when we don’t actually want to. We accept something that is offered to us or given to us when deep inside we are saying I don’t need it but then we accept it anyway, we move away from our own intuition and knowing we don’t need the food or the stuff, the relationship and we settle for yes but what if that thing never shows up again

what if that person never comes, what if that love never finds me,

If I don’t eat now I may never get offered food again

what if I never get offered another job

we follow clocks, not our body’s wisdom of when to eat , when to sleep, we overstimulate ourselves, with electronics, and substances to stay awake, we try to sleep when our body wants sunshine or gentle movement, we sit when our body wants to move. we ignore our body’s and because of this, our minds begin to run things.

we ignore our wisdom our body’s wisdom, we ignore the wisdom of nature and the elders the grandmothers and wise women that walked before us. those that have shared the knowledge and wisdom of the ages with the mothers so they to will one day become crones and elders. All of this over the lifetimes and through habit and compromise we have been taught or learnt to ignore what we crave and seek so much.

A tribe and our own innate intuition, we study how to be intuitive psychic, we learn from others, yet we do not learn from ourselves from our own wisdom

As women, priestesses, messengers, creators, feminine voices we need to support and help each other as we begin to reteach and relearn for ourselves and for our children. To change the pattens, the instilled beliefs and the ways of the negative imprints that we unconsciously have running within us and within our children and our children’s children. We are being called now in this year of massive change to do things differently. to stop following what has always been done this way before us and to create a new way for our tribe!

It is time for us to look at the ways of the Elders, the grandmothers the wisdom of the Crone, the village wise woman look at the wisdom of the animals and the land and begin to change the way we view things. begin to feel how things want to be done by your body and your own inner wisdom your own counsel and create a new tribe new family pattern new beliefs.

Creating a new cellular imprint in ourselves and our children starts with going against the old patterns and beliefs. It begins by meeting your layers and fears working on the negative instilled beliefs and changing your perspective. Not necessarily letting things go and definitely not bypassing or ignoring the beliefs or patterns there is not burying your head in the sand this is the opposite it is showing up and meeting your beliefs working with the reason they are with you and letting your wisdom and intuition guide you in what needs to happen next.

When we do this deep work we learn to hold space for ourselves and others but we also learn to trust ourselves and we become aware of the beliefs as they arise.

This is wisdom comes from the deep depths of the wise crone, mother, enchantress priestess within me. we are all meant to live without compromising our wisdom and our true gut intuitive beliefs.

Are you ready to take your own journey within to let go of the negative beliefs and instil new ones? rewriting you as you go.

It’s time for all of us to change and shift our old patterns and beliefs take charge of our own health and listen to our bodies, raising the next generations to listen and be wise.

Wisdom seed

When was the last time you buried your feet in the soil or the sand ?

When was the last time you built a pike if leaves and just jumped into it? 

Or picked up a pencil and just scribbled for no reason?

Let them be whatever they need

Do what excites you , what lights you up , sing like your a star, run like you won the race , dance like no one is watching .

Remember all those times you ran around outside flying high or watching the clouds as they drifted by .

Yep those moments that are etched into your light .

Those are the ones that bring you a  joy fueled life .
